Hi, my name is Mike Flaten. I grew up in a small
town in the Valley named Galesburg. I graduated High School from
Clifford-Galesburg and went on to Northwestern Technical College in Moorhead
Minnesota studying Ag Business. During my college years I worked for the
Galesburg Coop Elevator in my spare time and weekends eventually working
full-time for 11 years and becoming the Fertilizer Plant Manager. I left
Galesburg in 1995 and moved to Carrington, ND where I became the
Agronomy Manager at Cargill. Two years later I became the Production Manager
of the grain side until I moved to Lakota in 2000. I spent one year as
General Manager of Farmers Union Oil in Michigan before we merged with Lake
Region Grain of Devils Lake. I acquired the position of Agronomy Manager in
Devils Lake until accepting the job of General Manager here at Dakota
Agronomy Partners.
My wife Sue and I have 3 kids Dayna (17) Heather
(15) and Trenton (13). They have adapted to their new school's and are doing
great. Sue is working as the Director of Nurses for the Benedictine Nursing
Home , Garrison. I look forward to meeting all the people of Minot and
surrounding area
